Electronic authorisation verifies that the card used to make the
purchase has sufficient funds and has not been reported stolen. It does
not verify that the customer is the genuine cardholder.
If the card is not present, process the transaction through the terminal function MOTO (mail order/phone order). Always remember that the liability for all card not present transaction chargebacks rests with you the merchant.
Call Tyro Customer Care 1300 966 639 for voice authorisation if the terminal is not functioning or if you suspect a possible fraud. We have direct access to Risk and Fraud Officers and the
Federal Police.
