Moreland General Practice was established in December 2011 combining two well established family practices that served the Moreland community for many generations.

Accounts staff regularly use the online merchant portal. There are many different parts to the business – retail shop, restaurant, museum, cellar door, café, accommodation etc.

Terminal rent for just $25 per month for the desktop model and $35 per month for the mobile model. Merchant service fees are as low as 0.87% or 25 cents per eftpos transaction.

The desktop terminal plugs directly into a network port, router, or switch. Mobile terminals use WIFI or GPRS.

 As a result of a new computer implementation, we took the opportunity to upgrade our EFTPOS facility to a fully integrated system. Tyro was very informative and completely transparent with all fees and charges we would incur.

The delivery of the hardware and integration to our POS system was seamless. Our 16 Retail stores have had no down time and any minor issues were handled proficiently by their support team.

 The Lucky Charm group of newsagents crossed over to Tyro in 2011 deploying Tyro EFTPOS integrated with POS Solutions and that across the group.

With over 30 newsagents nationally and growing, the group had a diverse mix of needs for their payment solution. From the super busy Lucky Charm Town Hall adjacent one of Sydney CBD’s busiest Railway Stations to a small family operation in rural WA – Tyro delivered value.

For newsagents speed, ease of use through the seamless integration into the POS system and reliability is critical.

 We decided to 'bite the bullet' and order an EFTPOS facility from our 'big 4 bank'. But then we learned that the Bank terminal needed a dial-up phone line, fees per deposit item and per transaction and minimum monthly charge fee. Fees on credit cards are all 'high'.

We switched to Tyro. Their terminal connects to the home data network or GPRS away from home at Alpaca Field Days etc. We use our existing personal bank account without bank fees and bought the terminal to minimise long term cost. Summary: Over several years Tyro costs less than half compared to the Bank option.

 The US Banks began issuing cash cards in the 1970s as a tactic to automate services and cut labor costs -- more ATMs meant fewer bank tellers and check processing costs.

When swipe machines were first introduced in stores, banks actually paid some merchants to accept debit cards. Later, swipes became free, and once debit cards had become ingrained in consumer culture, banks began charging merchants, and the costs keep going up.
