Do I have to change my bank account?

Tyro can deposit your EFTPOS and eCommerce takings into any Australian bank account or you have the option to settle into Tyro's interest bearing, fee-free bank account. Tyro is a fully licenced Australian bank, which means your deposits are protected under the Financial Claims Scheme up to $250,000 per account holder.

How long does it take for the EFTPOS machines to arrive?

Once your application is approved, it'll take 2-4 business days for the EFTPOS machines to arrive.

How long does it take for funds to settle?

Tyro submits payment instructions for the previous day's transactions to the merchant's nominated bank in a file on banking days via the Bulk Electronic Clearing System (BECS). Non-banking days (weekends and Public Holidays) are submitted along with the next banking day's transactions. However, for merchants who settle their funds into the Tyro Bank Account, with Tyro's 'Flexible Settlements', merchants can select a settlement time for the same day (from 8pm) 7 days a week.

How do I transfer from a different provider?

You can keep your existing EFTPOS machine until your Tyro EFTPOS machine arrives.

No Cost EFTPOS terms and conditions

¹ No Cost EFTPOS may not enable you to recover all your costs of taking electronic payments with Tyro. It does not cover:

• your EFTPOS machine rental if you transact less than $10,000 per month (excluding Alipay transactions and transactions processed and settled to you under a separate agreement with American Express or JCB) using your Tyro EFTPOS facility;
• any transaction where you manually impose a surcharge (for example, using your POS software) or disable Tyro's surcharging feature;
• if you have Tyro eCommerce or otherwise use your Tyro facility to accept electronic payments online, the costs of accepting those electronic payments;
• if you have a separate agreement with American Express and/or JCB which governs how transactions are processed and settled to you, any fees payable to American Express and/or JCB based on that agreement;
• EFTPOS machine rental for any EFTPOS machines you rent from us, or any EFTPOS machine paper rolls you purchase from us, that exceed your reasonable business needs; or
• any optional accessories that you purchase from Tyro.

² If you accept less than $10,000 in transactions (excluding Alipay transactions and transactions processed and settled to you under a separate agreement with American Express or JCB) using your Tyro EFTPOS facility in a particular month, you will be charged EFTPOS machine rental for each EFTPOS machine that you rent from Tyro.
