EFTPOS terminals connect to your bank and payment networks to process transactions in real time, with funds typically settling into your business account within 1-2 business days.

Settling into the Tyro Transaction Account means you can reap the benefits of accessing your EFTPOS takings fast and on the same day through same day settlement, including on weekends and public holidays 4. Don’t have a Tyro Transaction Account? No worries, you can always settle into your nominated or linked Australian Bank Account. Or better yet, open up a Tyro Transaction Account and choose to allocate a percentage of your takings in your Tyro Transaction Account or your linked Bank Account.

Savings on eligible transactions vary for each business depending on their card mix, transaction volume, amount, industry, and pricing plan. Eligible transactions are transactions processed on a Dual-Network Debit Card. Tap & Go credit card transactions are not covered. For details refer to tyro.com or call 1300 00 8976 (TYRO).

3  Card-not-present transactions, including transactions using Payment Links, involve a higher fraud and chargeback risk than transactions where the card is present. You (the merchant), not Tyro or the cardholder, are liable for all chargebacks: see the Electronic Payments Facility Terms and Conditions at www.tyro.com/terms-and-conditions/. For further information about the risks associated with chargebacks, please refer to Tyro’s Chargebacks and Disputes Guide at www.tyro.com/blog/chargebacks-disputes-guide/. Payment Links support Visa, Mastercard and American Express card payments only. JCB is not supported via Payment Links (including where JCB may be available when American Express is enabled on other Tyro products), and other card schemes are currently not supported. Visa and Mastercard: You will be charged a rate of 1.4% (incl. GST) of the transaction value per transaction for domestic and international card payments processed through Payment Links. American Express (OptBlue merchants): You will be charged a rate of 1.4% (incl. GST) of the transaction value per transaction for domestic and international American Express card payments processed through Payment Links. American Express (Classic merchants): If you have a direct agreement with American Express (Classic) and your own negotiated American Express rates, Tyro does not apply the 1.4% OptBlue rate to your American Express transactions. Instead, Tyro charges a 0.1% switch fee (excl. GST), which is invoiced separately by Tyro. Your negotiated American Express transaction fees are charged directly by American Express under your existing agreement.You will be invoiced by Tyro for fees associated with transactions processed through Payment Links (including any switch fee), even if you are on a No Cost EFTPOS pricing structure. Payment Links come with 3‑D Secure (3DS), a security protocol that adds an additional layer of security to online purchases by requiring cardholders to authenticate themselves with the card issuer when making payments. It helps to prevent unauthorised online transactions, reducing the risk of fraud, and may help reduce the risk of certain chargebacks if the transaction is authenticated successfully. Some business types (MCCs) may be excluded from card-not-present transactions using Payment Links.

4  Settlements are paid 7 days a week when the daily takings from your Tyro Electronic Payments facility are settled into the Tyro Transaction Account. Available settlement times are from 8pm to 5am (Sydney time). Applies to Tyro settled funds only - excludes HealthPoint and funds settled directly by Afterpay, American Express, and JCB.

5  Dynamic Surcharging is available for Mastercard, Visa, EFTPOS, UnionPay and American Express transactions. The Dynamic Surcharging feature is not available for eCommerce transactions or to customers on No Cost EFTPOS pricing. By default, we do not include your EFTPOS machine rental costs into the calculation of your cost of acceptance, however you may choose to apply these costs into your calculation of your cost of acceptance via the Tyro Portal subject to the surcharging rules as set by the RBA and enforced by ACCC and, in relation to American Express transactions, the American Express Merchant Operating Guide (found at americanexpress.com.au/merchantopguide).

6  Tyro’s Pay@Table and SplitBills features are only available where the POS/PMS supports the integration. SplitBills is only available with Tyro’s Pay@Table feature.

7  Available only on Pro Series terminals, including Pro Touch, Pro Key and Pro Lite, when integrated with POS software; not available on standalone Tyro Pro Series terminals. The Custom Welcome Screen is to be used solely to promote the merchant’s business, brand or marketing initiatives.
