Before joining Tyro, Robbie spent five years as the Managing Director and CEO of Tatts Group Limited, which featured in the ASX top 60 with a market capitalisation of $6.7 billion and held exclusive lotteries, wagering and gaming licences. This role concluded upon Tatts combining via a scheme of arrangement with its Australian peer, Tabcorp.
Prior to Tatts Robbie served initially as COO, and then as Managing Director and CEO, of Australia’s leading online travel group, Wotif.com Holdings Limited. During his seven years at Wotif, Robbie oversaw the group’s significant scale up from start-up mode, achieving a circa fivefold increase in profits and undertaking a highly successful IPO on the ASX in 2006. Robbie also sits on the advisory board of in-home care provider Five Good Friends.
Robbie holds a Bachelor of Law with Honours from the University of Queensland Law School and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, an associate of the Governance Institute of Australia and a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
Angela has over 30 years’ experience working in banking and finance, management consulting and the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). Over that last 18 years, Angela has held numerous senior financial and non-financial risk, product and distribution roles at both the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and the National Australia Bank. Spending several years working as a Management Consultant for a range of Government, SME and banking clients was a fantastic way for Angela to transfer to corporate Australia from the RAAF. During her RAAF career Angela worked across Australia and Indonesia as a linguist and specialised in translating during flight training exercises. Angela passionately believes that the role of risk management is to partner with businesses and customers, enabling them to thrive in a safe way.
Bronwyn joined Tyro in October 2017 with over 20 years’ experience in financial services and consulting. Prior to joining Tyro, Bronwyn has held several senior roles across various divisions within the Commonwealth Bank of Australia since 2005. Before moving to Australia in 2004, Bronwyn had a consulting career with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting in the U.S. and across Asia working with clients from multiple industries from manufacturing to financial services. She has extensive experience in challenging status quo and delivering on innovative processes and solutions. Bronwyn has a passion for driving transformational change to organisations and teams leveraging on technology and disruptive thinking to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
Dave has nearly twenty years’ experience building and leading teams that develop and operate large-scale mission-critical systems for high profile organisations across a range of industries including financial services, wagering, retail and telecommunications. For a number of years Dave worked as a principal consultant at ThoughtWorks while they were pioneering the use of agile development methods for software delivery. In more recent times he has held senior technology roles at BT Financial Group, Tabcorp and Insurance Australia Group.
Jay was appointed Company Secretary of Tyro on 30 June 2020. Jay holds a Bachelors of Law and Commerce and has over 30 years in legal practice at MLC, NAB, Godfrey Pembroke, Mercer, and Allens. During her career, Jay has focused on financial services law and corporate governance. Jay has also worked as a Teaching Fellow at the UNSW Law School and as an Adjunct Lecturer, Master of Laws (Applied Law) at the College of Law.
James joined Tyro in March 2017 and has since established the Corporate Strategy function, leading to his appointment to the leadership team a year later. James is passionate about driving growth by facilitating strategic conversations using rigorous analysis, market awareness and structured problem-solving. James has had previous success at Deloitte S&O Consulting and Telstra Digital. He holds a first class honours degree from the University of Cambridge and a Master of Commerce from the University of Sydney Business School.
Josh has more than 19 years’ experience in financial services and management consulting with ING Direct, Aussie Home Loans, KPMG Consulting and Arthur Anderson Business Consulting. He has extensive experience delivering sales growth and outstanding customer experiences for financial services businesses across multiple distribution formats including direct, digital and partnerships. In his eight years at ING Direct, Josh’s outstanding leadership in growing and developing consumer sales and service channels culminated in him being awarded Australian Customer Experience Executive of the year and his team awarded Best Contact Centre in Australia.
Lisa has over 15 years’ experience in marketing, specialising in financial services, and has held roles both client-side at Aussie Home Loans and CMC Markets, as well as at advertising agencies working across Citibank, Bankwest, CommSec and IMB. Lisa has extensive experience in branding and high growth acquisition, and holds a Master of Business in International Marketing from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Praveenesh is a qualified CPA and a member of the Chartered Financial Analysts Institute and has over 15 years’ professional experience. Praveenesh was appointed CFO of Tyro in October 2014, with full responsibilities for the company’s Finance function. Having started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Fiji, Praveenesh has had extensive managerial experiences in the Property and Financial Services sectors as well as managing large integration and strategic finance related projects.
Sami joined Tyro in early 2018, establishing Tyro’s in-house legal function. Before joining Tyro, Sami was a Senior Associate at top-tier Australian law firm, Herbert Smith Freehills. While in private practice, Sami had the opportunity to work with some of Australia’s leading startups and is passionate about the Australian startup ecosystem. Sami holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Adelaide. Sami is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Courts of New South Wales and South Australia.
Steve is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He joined Tyro in March 2019 and leads the Internal Audit function, providing the Board and Management with an independent view on whether Tyro has an appropriate risk and control environment. After graduating from the University of Glasgow, Steve began his career in project management for a large UK utility firm before moving into audit and risk roles. Steve moved to Australia ten years ago with his family and has since worked for Woolworths, IAG and QBE.
Yvette commenced her career in HR, specifically in the tech industry, in 2004. Starting out in recruitment specialising in hiring tech talent in the banking and finance industry, she moved into an HR leadership role during her time at Avanade, the Microsoft technology consulting arm of Accenture, and then leading the global HR operations of Nearmap, a market leader in geospatial map technology. Joining Tyro in December 2016 to establish and grow the HR function, Yvette is a well-rounded HR leader with proven capability in solving complex business problems with extensive experience in the design and delivery of HR operational, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, leadership development and culture development initiatives to drive business strategy.
