What’s happening?
From 28 October 2024 Telstra is shutting down their 3G network, meaning Tyro EFTPOS machines with a built-in 3G SIM will need to connect to Wifi or Ethernet when processing payments.
Check your EFTPOS machine has a built-in 3G SIM
Just enter the serial number on the back of your EFTPOS machine in the box below.

If your EFTPOS machine has a 3G SIM, please follow the steps below to update the connection to Ethernet (for Tyro CounterTop) or Wifi (for Tyro Mobile).

For Tyro CounterTop
If you have a Tyro CounterTop, you’ll need an Ethernet cable before you start.
For Tyro Mobile
If you have a Tyro Mobile, please make sure you have your Wifi password handy

Hotspotting your Tyro EFTPOS machine
You can connect your EFTPOS machine to the internet using the ‘hotspot’ from your smart phone. To turn this on follow these steps.
