Today marks a major milestone as we officially launch Tyro Health.

Tyro has had a long history providing payment services in the health industry, dating back to 2009 when we were the first to launch electronic Medicare claiming via Easyclaim. But the modern complexities of the health industry combined with our desire to remain at the forefront of industry innovation has meant that a new approach to how we engage and support our health customers is needed.

Tyro Health represents both the new business unit at Tyro, bringing together all Tyro customers operating in the health industry to be managed by one specialist team, as well as our single unified claiming and payments solution.

Our heath solution includes not only our leading Tyro EFTPOS machines, but also our leading digital claiming and payments solution, Medipass. The core technology that Medipass delivers is critical to this unified solution, and so from today, Medipass will be known as Tyro Health Online.

Medipass was founded in 2016 on a belief that claiming and payments for the health industry needed to be simplified and modernised in order to make healthcare more accessible for more Australians. This mission continues with Tyro Health.

Payments and claiming have entered a new era where providers need more than just a single piece of hardware or software. Providers only need EFTPOS machines, but also online payments, batch claiming, telehealth, in-home claiming, payments at booking and more. And all these endpoints and devices need to be part of one central experience.

Tyro Health Online is the central unified solution for all Tyro Health offerings and is available at tyrohealth.com. Providers can connect Tyro EFTPOS machines to have them work alongside rich online payments and claiming functionality. Private health insurance claims can be fully managed from Tyro Health Online, whether for your EFTPOS or your online solutions. And customers who use both solutions receive great value bundle pricing.

This single network of payment and claiming options extends to over 80 technology partners we integrate to, enabling them to have confidence that by connecting to Tyro Health APIs and SDKs, they will continue to have access to best-in-class claiming and payment solutions, whether they be EFTPOS machines or online.

While we have rebranded, our team and the purpose that drives us hasn’t changed – we remain committed to making payments and claiming simple and modern, so that providers can get on with treating their patients no matter the model of care or funding arrangement.
