Consumer Data Right

Empowering you to take control of your data and share it securely with accredited third-party service providers.

Consumer Data Right eligibility

Who can share data from Tyro and what accounts are available?

The Consumer Data Right (CDR) is being introduced by the Australian Government in a phased approach. As such, Tyro will be making CDR data sharing available to customers over time as new phases and changes to the CDR come into effect.

At present, Tyro customers who are sole traders are able to share consumer data relating to the following products:

> Tyro Transaction Account
> Tyro Business Term Deposit
> Tyro Flexi Loan

For eligible customers, you will be able to share some of your customer details, account information and transaction details.

What are the benefits for you?

Sharing your data securely

All participating CDR organisations must be accredited by the ACCC before they are able to request data on your behalf. This accreditation process includes testing to ensure that participating organisations meet certain security standards. As an active data holder, Tyro must also adhere to these standards.

Control who has access to your data at all times

The CDR will provide you with control to choose which accredited organisations you allow to access your customer and banking data. Through your dashboard in the Tyro App (select Manage data sharing in the Settings menu), you will be able to see who you have given access to your Tyro data and choose to modify or stop sharing access anytime. You can authorise accredited organisations to access your data for a nominated time, up to 12 months, at which point their access will automatically expire.

Make your life that little bit simpler

Convenience is at the heart of CDR. Sharing data securely unlocks the potential for many mundane processes to be streamlined and more personalised services to be made available to you. You can visit cdr.gov.au to find a list of all the accredited organisations.

How data sharing works

Provide your consent on the website or app of the accredited organisation you want to share your Tyro data with first. You’ll then be taken securely to Tyro so you can set up sharing in just a few easy steps as outlined below. For customers with multiple businesses, you will need to select which eligible business you wish to share data on behalf of prior to selecting your eligible accounts.

To share your Tyro data, we need to identify you.
To do this, we will require you to enter the registered email you have with us.

Step 2

2. Enter one-time password

We will send you a password via SMS so that we can verify you. This will expire in 10 minutes and can only be used once.

Your will never be asked to provide your Tyro password(s) to share CDR data

Step 3

3. Select which accounts you would like to share

Check-boxes can be used to select which accounts are to be shared

Step 4

4. Review & confirm the access to your data
